End of Season Auction of Promises
On Sunday 20th May, we have our final training session for the juniors which will be followed by a Presentation session for the Juniors and then at 1pm an Auction of Promises.
We have a number of items up for auction, plus your chance to get hold of some tickets to watch hockey at the Olympics, so please come along and offer your support. If you cannot make it in person, you can still bid online here.
If you have any items to donate, that would be much appreciated as well - just get in touch with the Chairman. Hope to see as many of you there as possible!

Club - One of the best 10 in EUROPE

OSHC made the top 10 of the best Hockey Clubs in Europe.
Whilst ultimately, the No. 1 slot went to a German Club, Alderley Edge once again did well, claiming the Runners-Up slot.
However, Sils made it to the last 10, and were easily the smallest club in the running, and this just pays huge testament to the amount of work we do for hockey, irrespective of how big we are!
Just imagine, if we had a few more volunteers to do stuff, what we could have achieved - we might have possibly even won the award!
So, why not volunteer to help at the club, and make us an even better place to play hockey and socialise.

Juniors do the Club Proud

The Sils Juniors did fantastically well in the County In2Hockey Championships.
The Girls U12s were the stars, losing closely (1-0) in their final, which means they still progress to the Midlands finals.
The Girls U10s almost matched them, losing on strokes in the semi-final, and the boys U12s only missed out on qualification on goal difference.
As much support as we can get for the Girls at Rugby School on the 1st April would be much appreciated.

Opportunities for Club Youngsters

Within the Club, in support of the development of our future infra-structure, particularly with regards to youngsters, we are planning on running a number of courses. Could you please email the Chairman, and let him know if you might be interested in:
a) A Foundation Umpire course (aimed at ages 13 and below)
b) A Young Leaders Course (probably 11+)
c) The new England Hockey Leadership award (probably 11+)
- the difference between b and c is that the second one is very hockey specific, whereas the first would be for sport in general).
All courses will be held at the club, and run by members of the club.
