Match Preview

This week's preview takes a different form.

Gone (for one week only) are the awful puns, replaced this week by an eclectic mix of messages, all with the common aim of inspiring the Mighty 4s to put Olton to the sword this weekend. To read and reflect on as we put behind us the result against an exceptionally strong Khalsa side, to take forwards with us alongside the many positives from that performance (notably commitment, workrate and "shots to goals" ratio), in order to allow every squad member to focus in their own way this week on preparing to deliver their A game on Saturday, both as individuals and as a powerful unit.

So what sort of messages come to mind ? How about the wise words of the following individuals ?

1. Mathama Gandhi once said, " Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony".
2. "If you fail to prepare, you're prepared to fail", said Mark Spitz
3. "If you have everything under control, you're not moving fast enough" was the view of Mario Andretti (and coincidentally the reason given by Tony on Saturday when he struggled to pick up John's exocet pass midway through the first half)
4. Wayne Gretzky was clear on many things including the astute observation that "You miss 100% of the shots that you don't take"
5. And who could forget the immortal (well he is a puppet) words of Commander Sam Shore (Stingray), "Stand by for action .... Anything can happen in the next half hour"

So whether you're in the squad or watching it this weekend, make like a Boy Scout and "Be Prepared" for a battle against the "olt" enemy. If ever there was a weekend when the Mighty 4s mean business, it is this one ! See you there.
