John Wayne would have been proud .....

.. as 11 (then 10) battle against the Warwick Alamo (15)
Rushy’s back - back again - Rushy’s back - tell a friend.
Rushy’s back - Rushy’s back - Rushy’s back (you get it).
A ten goal bonanza (sorry for the Western references) saw Sils take the lead twice (2-0 then 4-2) but fall short despite showing true grit (aagh) throughout the game.
The opposition were clearly worried despite the distance between the two sides in the league. Sils managed to field eleven but Warwick turned up with fifteen. Despite the advantage in age and numbers, Warwick were put to the sword with some impressive counter-attacking from the Mighty Fours foiling the home side throughout the first 35. That we finished the half on level terms was cruel (35 minute PC) but such was the determination, organisation and purpose of the Mighty Fours that the home side knew that they would have to dig deeply to turn the match around.
And in the second half they did just that. How? Well it was simple.
There were more of them
They were younger
They didn’t lose their Captain halfway through the second half through injury
They made the pressure count
So, another defeat for the Mighty Fours. Or was it?
In all honesty it was one of the most polished performances from the boys this season against an opposition who fully recognised that they were lucky to win.
The score was 4-3 to Sils when Dave had to go off, and Warwick had luck and time to thank for being able to secure the points.
Shout outs :
GK Steve - phenomenal, MOM by a country mile. Epitomises all that is good about the Fours.
Defenders Union - Ross, Mike, Mick and Aussie Andy - organised and focused. No surprise to discover after the game that Ross is a trainee prison warden - he needs to, but took, no prisoners.
Midfield Army - JG, JH, Tom and Dave - worked their socks off .... and back on ... and off again,
Strike force - Keith and Rushy - the dream team bagged a hat-trick between them (so they will play spoof at the Club Dinner to work out who buys the beers)
