Desperate times as opposition make the most of their available resources
Solihull Blossomfield once again find themselves in search of points to stave off the threat of relegation and by using the resources available to them, they were able to field a very strong team to secure victory. All that can be said is that Sils battled valiantly and had much the better possession but could not turn this dominance into the goals required. Bloss’s forwards, some of whom have played at a higher level, showed their experience and guile to take a more clinical approach and counter attacked quickly and in numbers over powering the Sils defence by half time they were 3:0 up but things did improve in the second half with them being restricted to one further goal.
However, Sils did make a number of good chances but the game came down to whether chances were taken or not Sils amassed 12 short corners during the game compared to Bloss’s 1 so the key was really into turning these chances into goals and a more clinical approach to play inside the D whilst restricting counter attacks which have been the achilles heel all season so far.
