Improvements Continue for the Lions

Excellent draw for the Sils Youngsters
11 Lions turned up for the coldest and iciest hockey match this year.
Josh - confident kicking, a couple of good saves and excellent positioning.
Megan - solid and watchful defending from the first minute and then a second half of well placed clearances and 16yd hit outs.
Rosie - continually stood her ground and forced their winger wide - some superbly timed tackles and great distribution up the left.
Flo - very little got passed her - she was very busy but saw off pretty much everything that came her way.
Tom - 70 minutes of hard work and battling and patience - he supported in attack and hurried back to defend - splendid.
Jem - seemed to be everywhere on the pitch - brilliant tackling, some expansive passing - repeatedly changed the direction of the play especially when others were taking too long to shift the ball
Oliver - became more involved and more confident as the game progressed - I lost count of the times he won the ball
Erica - proved herself to be a huge nuisance to the opposition both as a defender and as a winger - she worked with Flo to completely negate the opposition's forays down their left and she provided several 'killer' balls for our forwards to run onto.
Kheya - in the first half, he gave the rest of the team belief that a result was possible with several mazy runs and many successful interventions - in the second half he supported his team mates with the same amount of effort but with passes that often lead to penetrations into the opposition 'D'
Matt - superb work as a link between the midfield and Eva - many interceptions, much lovely ball handling and stick skill - lots of great passes that often lead to chances.
Eva - remarkable running, remarkable effort and the goal that lead to a share of the points - determination, skill and a beautiful ability to read the game.
Megan and Kheya were contenders for my MoM - but on this occasion, Eva shades it. Well played everyone!
