Another positive result for the Lions

Additional fixture with Olton sees similar result to a fortnight before
Report from Caro (slightly amended for grammar/spelling):
We drew again!
1-1 this time, the kids all played amazingly well ? They are starting to get better at understanding the game, knowing their positions better, starting to transfer the ball from the defence, midfielders getting into better options and learning that they also have to defend and forwards giving better 3D options.
Of course there always is lots of stuff to work on to be better, Olton did damage with counterattacks where the Sils struggled with not just tackling, but running back and kind of “slowing the opposition down".
Our goal was amazing, so much that all the team jumped and cheered, really exciting stuff ❤ The team did a nice piece of open play that ended in a penalty corner and in it they hit the ball, the Olton GK stopped it and then the kids with a lot of patience moved the ball between themselves inside the D until they got a free space to push the ball inside the goal, which was done by Imogen Pemble.
All the girls are beginning to fight for every ball, getting the other team really annoyed by their pressure. On the coach's instructions, the girls have stopped being ladies on the pitch, to such an extent that they all were doing even better than the boys! Erica was unstoppable on the right, Jem Perry did really well as centre midfield, Jonnie Carter in goal started telling our players where their players were and who to mark who with an impressive confidence.
Post match, Caro (and Darren ?) opted for Bethany as player of the match! She fought for every ball strongly and got the other team to struggle a lot with her battling. However, every player is doing really well and starting to get a lot of confidence.
Great work all involved!
