Mike Bettridge heads the Honours list...

We hope all those of you who participated at Club Day had an enjoyable day - thank you to everyone who came along to play, umpire, coach, help and support in such good numbers on what was a lovely sunny!

In the evening we presented the senior section awards for last season - delayed because of the cancellation of our normal Annual Dinner of course.

Heading the list was Mike Bettridge who was awarded Honorary Life Membership - only the 20th person to be honoured in this way in the 90-year history of the club. Mike last year completed his 50th straight season playing for OSHC, and was presented with his award by fellow Hon Life Member John Levenger. Over those 50 years, Mike has at various times been 3rd XI Captain, Team Secretary, School Liaison Officer, Treasurer, Chairman and President and he now plays for M4, skippers the Solihull O-60s team and also umpires regularly. He is also a Past President of the OSA.

Our major Annual Award is the Cutler Award, given for an outstanding contribution to the Club - this year it deservedly went to Etienne Blatt who was unfortunately unable to collect it in person as he is stuck back home in South Africa. Hope to see you soon Eti!
