Ways to Support the Club & Benefit Yourselves
As hopefully many of you know, the Old Silhillians HC is continually seeking to improve the delivery of hockey to both its members, and to the wider community.
In order to do this we are looking to develop the following over the next few years:
1. More opportunities to play, in more different ways
2. Enhanced coaching for these sessions, both from a quality and a quantity perspective
3. Improve our outreach work, and development of a more diverse delivery
Whilst your annual subscriptions do support these ambitions to some extent, we are also very keen to make hockey as affordable as possible, and hence we undertake a number of activities to minimise the amount of money we ask from you each year:
a. Grant Applications
b. Personal donations from a handful of members
c. Profits from the Annual Mixed Hockey Festival
d. Club Fundraisers/Socials
However, we want to ensure that we can continue to grow our offer, and the four options above are reaching their upper limits. We have therefore looked for other ways to generate funds for the club to support our ambitions, but with a focus on rewarding people making donations and/or giving them the chance to win prizes.
All of the options have been brought together on one site:

But, to save you from having to go there to find out what might be on offer, a summary is below:-
- A £1 per week lotto, with the top prize being available of £25k per week
- A Crowdfunder, where there are a range of about 30 different rewards dependent upon how much you are able to donate (many of which are worth more than you are donating, so it is a bit of a no-brainer!)
- Online stores, where a %age of what you spend gets donated to the club
- And then there are also sponsorship opportunities as well
Please consider helping in whatever way you can - even if this is just by sharing links with people who may be interested. For the Crowdfunder in particular, we have been offered £6k by Sport England but only if we can raise £5k in the next two weeks, and if 100 people in total donate something (whether that be £1 or £1000!)
