Sils travelled to Warwick School to play a late fixture against Khalsa Leamington 5s - a side they had struggled to beat the previous season in the equivalent fixture. The team featured Sils debuts for Goalkeeper Jess Farmer and defender Phoebe Blackburn, and were led by part of the new 3s leadership team, Anna Lawrence.

It was clear from the start that the Sils team would be faster and more skilful than the opposition, and had it not been for some good saves by the KL Goalkeeper, it could have been a larger win for the Sils.

As it was, the first goal came after a great save from the home keeper, but with skilled squash player Ria Upadhyay arriving at far post after a saved deflected the ball up, she had the hand-eye coordination to volley home the opening goal of the season. This finish, and demonstration of skill, deflated the home side a little, and within minutes it was 2. Upadhyay the provider this time, as a strong move down the right led to Ria finding Priyanka Raizada at the far post for an easy tap in.

Debutant Farmer had a couple of regulation saves to make, but the defence of Captain Lawrence, supported by Player of the Match Grace Edges, and Niamh Barton along with Phoebe Blackburn, meant that the opposition did not really get many chances.

The second half was not one way traffic, but in reality it was really a case of how many more goals we might score. As it happened, whilst several chances were created, the usually prolific Megan Brindley was not feeling well, and was struggling to have her usual impact on the game. However, she did score one goal in the second half, leaving the final score 3-0 to Sils, and a solid start to their promotion push.
