Sils travelled to Sutton to play in their first ever U16 National Cup matches. Sadly, with two late cry-offs and one no-show, they were only able to play with 10 players, one of whom, Chan, had not picked up a stick in 3 years and had been drafted in to "make up the numbers".
Considering the fact that the team was up against two opposing squads of 15 players, and both from larger clubs, the Sils' lads acquitted themselves tremendously. Guest GK, Ollie Tubb was superb throughout, and whilst both games were lost (3-1 to Sutton, and 2-0 to Warwick), the team has many things to be proud of.
Next week, the team will take on Rugby and Banbury and will hope to make sure they get at least 11 players out, plus will be hopeful of points with the two opposing teams sitting further down the table than this week's opposition.
