Sils Finish in Style

Much like many of our Senior Sides are likely to do this season, the U16 Boys have finished mid-table in their National Cup Midlands league, winning their final match against Redditch 4-1, to finish 4th (out of 6) behind Edgbaston, Streetly and Olton.

As this is only the club's second year of playing in this competition, this is a great result by the lads, and shows what great improvements have been made in recent years within the club's Junior and Development sections as not only are we now able to get teams out, but we are also competing with the best in the Midlands.

This game was always comfortably under control for the Sils lads, and they won 4-1 with goals from Sam Johnstone, Calum Rice and Josh Rice (2).

Massive thanks to John Rice and Stewart Johnstone in particular for all of their support of the team, but also a special mention to all the other parents for being there to support today, and also most of the other matches in what have not always been great conditions!

Well done all. Need to consider if we want to enter the U18 Cup next year now.....
