As reported by Dan Bridges

A team that contained a mixture of experience and youth took on an experienced Hampton side. In the first twenty minutes of the game Hampton were the dominant team and scored two goals. Sils began to play better and Brilliant Ben Rice made some excellent saves in goal. Fantastic Ffitch, Daring Dellow, Wonderous Wilson and Hero Hill were a steady presence which limited Hampton’s attack. This led to some excellent play from Stupendous Steve to pass the ball to Deadly Dan who put a cracking reverse stick shot in the far right of the goal. 2-1.
At half time wise words from Steve, Ian and Craig spurred the team on. In the second half, Dynamite Dugdale was a quick as lightning getting the ball up the field to the forwards. Smashing Smith, Wily Will, Devilish Dwyer, Legend Lawana and Speedy Sam were all making good contributions in the midfield, showing great perseverance with their tackling and passing.
Half way through the second half, Sils were pushing for another goal. A short corner resulted in the ball hitting a Hampton defender’s foot on the goal line and a penalty flick was awarded. It takes a lot of courage to take a penalty which Steve Leonard showed, flicking a masterpiece into the far left of the goal, an unstoppable shot made the score 2-2. Due to an over-enthusiastic celebration Steve ended up in the sin-bin for two minutes. Aaahhh Steve!
With a confidence boost, Sils went on the attack. Tony and Craig making great runs up the left hand side. Hampton had a few opportunities which Steve Dellow with seamless ease cast away. Man of the match Ian Wilson continually took the ball up the pitch out skilling their players. Sils pressured and pushed but the Hampton defence held. The final whistle blew. The team came away in high spirits ready for the next game.

Points for the next game:
More movement in midfield to support players with the ball.
Stronger passing.
Release the ball early
Team warm-up

A big thanks to Jonny and Craig for all their organisation and ensuring all players get to the games so far this season.
