The Old Sils looked to continue their unbeaten run at home to Warwick on Saturday, the only team so far the Sils haven’t beaten and it promised to be a great encounter with the Sils in first place in the league and Warwick within touching distance in second place.

The game started at a good pace and the Sils soon found themselves on top, an excellently worked team move finished with aplomb by man of the match Jamie Glynn. This early lead was soon doubled when some excellent individual skill, once again from Jamie Glynn and a quick flick into the bottom corner put Sils firmly in charge of the match. The lead was halved however just before the break when a lucky deflection dropped straight to a Warwick forward who scored from close range, leaving the score 2-1 at the break.

Warwick came out the stronger team in the second half and score two short corners mid-way through the half to take the lead for the first time in the game. This, coupled with a horrendous sliding tackle from a Warwick player, suitably fired the Sils up and Jamie Glynn came to the fore picking the ball up inside the ‘D’ unmarked smashed the ball home for his hat trick. This was then followed up by the Sils 4th goal from Jon Hollway with an excellent deflection. But it wasn’t to end there, a dubious card for the man of the match gave Warwick a one man advantage for the last five minutes of the game when they equalised just before the end through another short corner, leaving the score at 4-4.
