A resurgent 2nd team arrived at Streetly off the the back of 3 wins out of the last 4 games knowing that nothing other than a win would do against the league's whipping boys.
Wise words from Captain Mark Dovey before the game and at half time eliminated any potential complacency ensuring the team applied relentless pressure on the Streetly defense creating 9 goals, half a dozen penalty corners and a bagful more chances; in other words opportunities every 3 minutes.
James Ball scored the first with a bullet into the bottom corner having ghosted into the top of the D. Adam Kent grabbed a couple for himself the second an equally powerful shot into the opposite corner. Nick Oppenheimer helped himself to two from close range while Mo Hadian picked up a brace of his own. Andre Tchakhotine and Tom Watson also got on on the score sheet with a goal a piece.
Streetly did manage a 5 minute spell of dangerous counter attacks late in the first half scoring to reduce the deficit to 4-1 then winning a penalty stroke. Cometh the hour cometh the man, Steve Aylin, stared the Streetly forward in the eye and induced him into a fluffed flick which the Sils stopper stood up to denying the home side an unlikely life line.
4 wins out of 5 now and a win next week at Shrewsbury will surely keep the team in the premiere league.
