Sils started very strong and kept the ball in the opposition half for much of the first twenty minutes.
Berkswell opened the scoring from a breakaway goal and their only attack of the game.
Sils came back as strong but couldn't convert the numerous chances, with many efforts from Tom Cloke, Sam Eakins, Rich Thurman and Tom Berns all being saved by the young Berkswell keeper.
Half time 1-0
Second half saw Sils come out as strong but not as dominant as the first half but still managing to keep the attacks from the opposition down.
Finally the goal game from good build up play from defence to midlfield, there were a few one, twos played between Cloke, Berns and Eakins before a weak flick from Rich Thurman left the keep flat footed and the ball dropped into the back of the goal.
Sils pushed on and had plenty more chances to take the lead, many misses and some good saves from Berkswell kept the score at 1-1.
Promising start for the season, bring on Hampton!
