Podium finish guaranteed for Mighty 4s as they look to finish the season in style.

I never really liked any of Alison Moyet's songs (well maybe "All Cried Out" at a push) but it would be fair to say that we almost put her greatest hits CD on as we travelled back from Birmingham in Steve's posh motor yesterday. As, whilst it is technically possible for us to regain second spot, fate is not currently in our hands after Saturday's loss to Edge 7, and the end of the season is just around the corner.

But no matter, we are guaranteed a third-placed finish, and an improvement upon last season. The quality of our on-field play and off-field banter has improved immeasurably these last months (as has Tony's dress sense), so we look forwards to our final two fixtures with a renewed sense of drive, and a focus on playing some quality hockey with the aim of earning six points and two clean sheets.

With Matt Lyons going back to Stone (there's a joke there somewhere but I can't find it), and Ali & Andy expected to called up by the 3s, the Mighty 4s hope that Rushy returns from an ankle problem, as the BBC (Bates, Bettridge & Creed) may still be on the slopes by the time that we pushback.

There's a score to settle with Bromsgrove (their 4s did the double over us and now we have the chance to do the same to their 5s) so we intend to do just that this coming weekend, before heading off to Simon's in the evening to listen to some Tina Turner, feast upon cheese and pineapple sticks, sink a pint or two of Davenports, followed perhaps by a cheeky snifter of Martini Rosso or Bianco.
