The simple truth is that Stratford were younger, faster and better organised and ran out worthy winners. To their credit Sils worked and chased hard, keeping the opposition at bay until the end of the first half, but tiredness kicked in during the second half, and Callum’s heroics (many though they were) couldn’t save the Sils from a heavy home defeat.
Thought of the day - it’s ok if the opposition beat you but never let anything else. Always keep your shape, structure and discipline and work for the team.
Post Script - a somewhat greyish-looking Mick Lane sidled up to the bar after the game to settle his fine for indiscipline. As he fished through a wad of one pound notes, Mrs Mick stepped in (again) to save his blushes.
