Match Report by JG

The 4's put in what can only be described as a blinding performance this week, in what must be considered the big local Derby. Think Villa vs Birmingham City, Liverpool vs Everton, or Man U vs Man City, the clashes between these big names are nothing compared to the clash that unfolded on Saturday - Old Sils vs. Olton.
Sore after from our defeat away, Yogi was especially keen to make the most of the home game advantage, and that is exactly what we did.
With solid work at the back from the Aussie power house of Andy Jackman, and the classic Mike and Mick pairing our back 3 worked hard to pick off almost all of the advances that Olton through our way, leaving Yogi with very few opportunities to show off his keeping prowess meaning. The last minute saviour from the bar in the form of Nobby completed the 4's full 11 and what a crucial part he played in front of our back three, on more than one occasion putting in crucial tackles to break the attacking olton forwards. John, Tom, Will, and James put several miles down on the astro moving the ball through the midfield and up to the danger duo of Rushy and Keith. After consistent pressure from sils we broke the deadlock early with Andy Rush firing a shot into the Olton net, followed up soon after with a surprise move from Keith turning an Olton free hit into a Sils goal with an interception that should be on some sort of highlights reel. Olton soon returned the favour with a goal of their own. The second half saw Olton's desperation grow after a 2nd goal from Andy Rush resulting in 2 green cards leaving the Sils playing against only 9 men. Unfortunately we weren't able to make the most of our player surplus and soon the opposition were back up to their full compliment. Sils weren't done however, winning 3-2 just wasn't enough and Tom Whitfield scored Sils 4th goal (which James had superbly fired just under the keepers left arm - even if I say so myself). A special mention to Will who stepped up for the 4s on his birthday and went away with his traditional 4's injury, this time getting with in the face with a ball off his own stick, but still managing to take the ball from the halfway line to the D before needing to head off the pitch to see our medical team (aka Pat), and to Skipper Dave who despite his injury provided much direction and support from the sideline and was in all senses the 12th man.
Fantastic result 4-2 and great to remind Olton that the Old Sils and the 4's are indeed Mighty!"
