As Yazz says "the only way is up"

To make it easier and as the first report of the season I thought i'd make sure this report was both waffling and late, so the bar is nice and low for the next person...

So the first match of the season is over and what a match it was, putting the score line to one side, let's look at the positives. Many of our team had never played together before and for all of us this was the first league match of the season, for some the first game of the season, and for some, their first match EVER! So with all of that in mind a spectator could have expected to see a team in a bit of chaos, but no. Instead, in amongst the sounds of first-game-of-the-season fitness (from some of the team) and the lightning dashes of our youngsters, there was some very impressive hockey. Xavier put is some impressive saves throughout the match, to keep the score at 1-0 helped by the top defending from some returning favourites from last season in the form of Dave, Mick, Andy J, and Craig. The back 4 put in a real shift and fought off almost everything that Bloss had to throw at us, while distributing the ball well to the midfield.

That leads me on to the mids, with the second half in particular giving way to a fantastic demonstration of Hockey with fast accurate passing and quick movement of the ball from the new faces the M4 in the form of the two Ollies, Matthew Hulbert, and Fletcher Johns (MoM), and the return of Arron Lawana. They battled hard and passed the ball well, to get us into the Bloss circle on many occasions keeping their keeper busy themselves and, setting star striker Keith and returning favourite Tony for several shots on goal. Unfortunately this time we didn't come away with the win, but we shouldn't be disheartened as we showed we have more than enough skill to take this league by storm and return to form as the Mighty Fours!

Well done to everyone and bring on the rematch at Home!
