Sils fought hard to give an angry Kings Heath a sniff of a chance but ended 8-4 winners with display of "total hockey".

Ten minutes into the game Sils were 3-0 up against the 10 men of Kings Heath. Having called the shot Babe Ruth style Andre Tchakhotine (perhaps aided by Max) opened the scoring with a reverse stick strike from the top left of the D. Max Levenger then applied his own significant finish to two more strong Sils attacks.

At this stage Mark Woolford decided the game was safe and went home to nurse his sniffles. Little did he know that this would pave the way for a temporary self destruction. The make-shift full back pairing of Nick Oppenheimer and Andre effectively left Neil Mortimer to defend on his own and eventually the 3 on 1 attacks broke through and a bemused Sils turn in for half time with the score at 3-3.

A subdued team talk was followed by a much more professional second half. Sam Stephen slotted two goals and was narrowly denied a comeback hat-trick by a good save from a penalty corner strike. Andre did complete his hat-trick (of reverse stick goals) and added an open goal tap in after being put in by Max. Not to be outdone Mark Dovey slotted into the net, sadly it was delicately tucked into the bottom corner of the Sils goal to give Kings Heath a consolation second half score.

Kings Heath spent most of the game challenging Quentin Gummow and Matt Fell's umpiring decisions but would seemingly have fared better using their energy to fight off the string of Sils attacks that drew goals from midfield, forward and defence.

Quentin had the last laugh blowing the final whistle half way through Max's back swing as he was about to pop the ball into an empty net for his own hat-trick.

There was a welcome return to a fine array of check shirts in the bar afterwards to enjoy a few beers and a healthy helping of faggots, chips and peas.
