Bloss spoil season start.

Well the leaves are turning brown, the chilled prosecco has run out and there is s Christmas tree in Lidl. Only one conclusion - its the beginning of the Vets season.
The team assembled looking tanned, chilled and slightly out of breath. Captain Perkins was visiting his off-shore bank account, and it was down to Tog 14 (still in his summer coat - Ed) to assemble the masses. The Child Catcher was in as was 50 Shades. Steve Aylin was back, and Nobby was sweating just warming up. Oh how I have missed them.
The game began in an even fashion. Bloss are less combustible these days, and it was a fast open game. We looked quite slick for a while, and it was a pleasant surprise when Dovey struck home after a flowing move as smooth as chiffon on the Empress Josephine (calm down Napoleon). Bloss came back well, and gained several PCs which were dealt with well by the defence. Then - disaster. Bloss equalised and it was like an icicle through the heart (Really? Calm down - Ed). Half time arrived and we assembled in the goal ready for an inspirational talk.
Nobby arrived in the goal looking like he had been through a car-wash, and it was a considered debate at Half Time - we really missed Gary's reverse psychology to be honest. The confident nature of the talk was like the crack of doom for our 2nd half hopes.
Bloss went ahead within two minutes of the re-start. We came back at once, and the Motorway Tourist (Simon Russell), and new recruit Paul Williams were causing problems. However, Right Said Fred was not getting enough ball, and the Bloss keeper was playing well. The visitors also scored a third from a PC when the Sils post man abandoned his post (he would have been shot at dawn 100 years ago). Despite much huff and quite a bit of puff that is how it finished. A sad day in sport and something we will need to put right in the rematch.
Teas were good, and the MoM was Simon Russell (deserved - Ed). The season is up and running, and we are looking for many more recruits. Come along - its fun, its cheap and by God it does you good. Next week - at home against the marauding VISIGOTHS from Stourport.
