Sils made to pay for lack lustre start

This was one of those games to forget with absentees in key positions causing a re-juggling of the side to accommodate players in some unaccustomed position against an experienced Nuneaton side lying third in the table. With best endeavour Sils went about their task but found themselves being caught on the break by a fast counter attacking side time after time, by half-time they were 0:3 down and within seven minutes of the second half Nuneaton had added a fourth with no way back for Sils.

However, conceding the fourth goal seemed to kick start Sils into action and they actually started to play Ruth Dovey was starting to find some space and one of her mazey runs found Naomi Ennis in the D who shot narrowly wide. Another driving run by Dovey a few minutes later saw the ball reach Jai Resche who scored her second goal of the campaign. To make matters worse clear umpiring decisions were being wrongly called adding to the woe but on 60 minutes a short corner was awarded enabling Ennis to slot home.

No further goals were forthcoming but just need to get a bit more urgency into the play for next weeks away fixture to turn things around.

MOM: Kate Huntington, ran ragged trying to plug the gaps that were opening up everywhere but still managed to block attacks and tried to get the midfield going.
