Poor start costs Sils

Ladies 2s welcomed Tara Masson, Mira Higgins and Abi Landa to the starting line up this week.

A myriad of reasons saw the 2s 4-0 down within the first quarter of the game, not the start we had hoped for! A new formation and an opposition who were quick out of the starting blocks caught Sils off guard.

The Captain’s quick thinking salvaged the game and a re-worked formation kept the opposition’s lead to 4-0 to half time.

The first half wasn’t without its chances for the 2s, with a short corner and some good open play; demonstrating that whilst losing by a significant margin the 2s weren’t defeated.

The second half again saw an early goal for the opposition, taking their lead to 5-0. Notwithstanding the scoreline Sils continued to battle and it’s a testament to the 2s character and commitment to each other that until the final whistle every ball was chased down and everyone continue to work hard.

Credit to Barford Tigers Ladies 1st XI who played very well and had a couple of very impressive players.
