The Mighty 2s chalked up another victory, once again built off the back of a fine defensive display. With Sutton Coldfield having most of the possession, it was a busy day for the defence of Maddie Richie, once again showing her skills and prowess in goal, and in front of her Megan Croft, Patricia Newman, Toni Purvis and Emily Hilton. Laura Porter held the shape in midfield in front of the defensive unit and whilst Sutton did force corners, and got shots away, they were all covered by the excellent Richie, but supported by the defence making sure that none of the shots were from difficult angles for the American.

At the other end, Sils broke with real pace, determination and intent. So whilst they did not have as much ball, they always looked like scoring. Most of the attacking excellence was driven by Melissa Thurman, but equally, Flo Collins, Carys Rowland and Amy Garside all made intelligent runs, created opportunities and Katie Seazell kept getting into some great attacking positions to stretch the opposition defence, and allow the Sils to carry the ball with real purpose.

The goals were scored by Amy Garside in the first half, and Melissa Thurman in the second half ; though this was a real team effort. Sutton did manage to hit the post with 10 minutes to go, but that was the closest they got, and Sils wrapped up their 5th victory of the season.

A massive game next week against Atherstone Adders 1s - a team that has the threat of Izzie White, who many of the girls know all too well from her time spent in our U16s Girls side.
