Kick off the Season in Style

On Saturday 4th September, the club will be hosting the first day of its club weekend with the club open for all players to attend, and:

Watch the Men's 1sts kick off their season preparation with a game against Berkswell starting at 12pm

Play in an inter-club 6-a-side tournament starting at 1.30pm and running until about 4.00pm - all welcome to play

Get some food after all the hockey

Get the opportunity to buy some kit, fill in membership forms, generally find out more information about what plans there are for upcoming Socials etc. and possibly even pay your Subscriptions!

On Sunday 5th, the club has its first Juniors Session, 10.30 - 12.00, and we will also be looking to have a fastest shot competition, and aerial darts running immediately after this, and before the JDCs happen at 12.30.

It would be great to have plenty of people along to show how much the club has grown in the last 12 months....

Men get bye in the 1st round, avoiding having to play a match on the 26th September.

Their first match will now be on the 24th October - opposition and venue TBC.

The club will be hosting an evening of "lunatics" walking on FIRE and BROKEN GLASS to help raise funds for Meningitis Research.

The evening promises to provide plenty of entertainment (with not just the main events taking place, but also plenty of other stuff to make the evening a fun family event).

Pre-Season fitness sessions have commenced at the club, twice a week.  In general, they will be Monday and Wednesday nights starting at 7pm, but check the relevant forum string out for the confirmed plans for the week.

The sessions are progressive and hockey-focussed, and well worth attending no matter what your current fitness level!

Within the Club, in support of the development of our future infra-structure, particularly with regards to youngsters, we are planning on running a number of courses. Could you please email the Chairman, and let him know if you might be interested in:

a) A Foundation Umpire course (aimed at ages 13 and below)

b) A Young Leaders Course (probably 11+)

c) The new England Hockey Leadership award (probably 11+)

- the difference between b and c is that the second one is very hockey specific, whereas the first would be for sport in general).

All courses will be held at the club, and run by members of the club.
