Despite great efforts , a win still eludes us!!!

The first away match of the season, wearing our new kit on a sunny morning in Atherstone.

Our opposition was mix of young and old players with a large number of subs and included a young male goalie!
The teams were evenly matched however and the work rate was high for all.
In particular the Sils backs who worked hard to keep clearing the ball. Olivia Timmins continuing to improve her good hitting skills and Sandra Rowland working hard and skilfully moving the ball up the right side tackling consistently.
Lauren Clarke, Grace Kirby and Helen Thomas also being consistent and hard working to keep pushing the ball back to the mids.

Mary Davies had a fantastic game keeping several balls out of the goal and on several occasions came out into the D to tackle and stop goal attempts. Proving herself again to be a fantastic new asset to the team!

Atherstone secured the first goal but a determined and skilled solo run from Hannah Higley saw her take the ball up the left side tackle players , pass the goalie and score!!
With morale suitably boosted the Sils went into half time drawing 1-1

The second half saw a repeat of the first half with an even match of hard work rate and skill from all. Atherstone secured a second goal which we couldn't seem to find an answer to leaving the final result at. 2-1 to Atherstone.

In summary the team continue to develop and work hard and the elusive match win is not far away now and is truly well deserved!

Player of the match is voted as Hannah Higley for her outstanding goal but closely followed by Issi smith and Olivia Timmins for their committed determined play!
