Third Place Finish

Team comes 3rd in Midlands Tier 2
The combined team of Old Silhillians, Stratford and Atherstone played really well to finish 3rd in the "Midlands" Tier 2 finals held at Solihull School behind two very strong teams also from Warwickshire (Hampton and Rugby).
This Finals day was the first time the club has reached this stage in the last 4 years of entering, and the combined "Silsford" team did themselves proud - players from Sils included Ben Rice, Dan Bridges, Mackenzie Hill, Tom Smith and Will Maidment - plus has also had Kheya Ballentine-Brain and Matt Hulbert playing in the group stages.
The day started with a tough first match against Rugby & EW, and whilst the game was close, with Silsford having a small number of chances, the Rugby side always looked on top, and won 3-0. Rugby then beat the other team in the group St.Albans to finish top, and leave Silsford to play the "Tangerines" to determine second place in the group. The game started out tight, Silsford scoring first, and St.Albans equalising minutes after, but the home team then pushed on to take the victory and set up a 3rd/4th play-off against Crostyx from London who had beaten Bedford but then lost to Hampton in the other group.
Silsford comfortably beat Crostyx 5-1 to wrap up third place and mark the end of a highly successful few years of this combined group.
