Burton started far the brighter of the two sides and within 5 minutes had a 2 two goal advantage due to fast counter attacks. Stunned into action Sils started to exercise a degree of control on the match with Jon Hollway and James Clapham controlling the midfield. Pressure was building around the Burton D but their keeper kept the Sils at bay with a number of fine saves, including bravely blocking a powerful Matt Fell half volley with his helmet. Burton scored their 3rd through a Penalty Corner.
After being read the riot act at half time the Sils were determined not to leave Burton empty handed. There was distinct increase in the tempo of the match and Sils attacking play was causing Burton a number of problems. Man of Match Max Levenger put in an excellent defensive performance trying his utmost to keep the ball of out of the goal. Unable to cope with the pressure Burton made a number of rash tackles that eventually lead to a plethora of Penalty Corners being awarded to Sils. After a few sighters in the 1st half Dan Sulway was deadly from the top of the D bagging a brace quickly. With Sils pushing forward in attempt to tie the scores Burton broke on another counter to keep themselves ahead. Sulway completed his hat-trick soon after but this was undone as Burton were able to convert several P.C.’s of their own. Matt Fell finished off the scoring with a deft reverse stick flick although it proved no more than a consolation goal.
