A bare 11 took to the field against the 16 youngsters that the school put out, but with the Sils controlling the ball, and the match with solid performances from James Clapham and Chris Ready at the back, the team used their limited squad size well with players working off each other to ensure the ball was retained for long periods.

In their first real telling attack, Sils took the lead, with Max Levenger flicking home having had an initial shot saved. Debutant Matt Northcott then had the chance to double the lead, but his deflection in front of the school GK was not quite enough to divert it into the net. Half-time score was 1-0 with Patrick O'Malley in goal looking assured having made a couple of comfortable saves.

A few minutes into the second half, and the Sils doubled their lead - having passed the ball around the pitch, player-coach Daniel Sulway was able to take the ball into the attacking 23, and pick an inch-perfect pass to Max Levenger waiting at the far post for a simple deflection from a few inches.

The school found a slight lifeline when Sulway gave the ball away in his own 23 to allow Sam Brown to hammer home their goal and make the score 2-1, but minutes later, Matt Northcott scored his first goal for the club, volleying smartly home after good set up play down the left side. The scoring was completed in the last attack of the match, a PC breaking down but still allowing Captain Jamie Glynn to fire home a reverse stick shot into the goal to secure the 4-1 win.
