Tom Loughran's Match Report
The day got off to a bad start with Tom Loughran sending the team on a wild goose chase around the grounds looking for the changing room.
It turns out we walked past it on the way in.
After locating the changing rooms, we were briefed by Tom Harrison about getting ourselves focused and in the right state of mind before matches, which we responded to by taking it in turns to try and flick hockey balls into each other's ankles. But in fairness, we were focused on the task in hand.
Out on the pitch we got off to a good start with Jamie Clapham putting away a penalty flick. This was later backed up by a second goal from Matt Northcott, who capitalised on Ben Harmer's inability to control a hockey ball.
We went into half time with a 2-0 lead, which was later extended by a second penalty flick, calmly floated into the middle of the goal.
Not wanting to break the tradition of our lack of clean sheets (not even for Paddy O'Malley's Birthday), the Sils decided to concede one goal to make it 3-1. Matt Northcott then scored 2 more to leave the final score at 5-1, meaning that the Sils were able to celebrate the somewhat rare occasion of a victory.
