Sils prove too strong!

With goalkeeping proving an issue I would like to thank Paddy for doubling up even though with sickness he looked whiter than the ball.

Old Sils started the stronger of the teams with their new youthful look about them, plenty of attacking possession although not an awful lot of shots on goal.

Some great link up play between midlfield and attack led to a easy reverse stick tap for Thurman at the back post.

Lukas Moment and Tom Louhgran worked well alongside each other in midfield and set Calum Rice off on the attack, he could have slipped in Josh Rice but decided to go alone and skillfully won a penalty corner, Tom injected to Thurman who's shot was milimeteres too high.

Half Time 1-0

With a positive team talk and massive praise for the hard work from all, Sils knew this game was very winable.

Andrew Jackman began to struggle with a migrain and having his shoes tidied up to the top of the fence didnt help with that, he subbed and Sils lost their shape a little, we reorgasnised well and some more great play from all the Rice's meant that Thurman easily rounded the keeper to slot in his second and Sils to double their lead.

Although Sils were looking very strong, Derby's playmaker worked it between our midfield and created a one on one chance which they put past Paddy, 2-1.

Almost straight from the restart Sils looked strong again, Jack Morris worked well to get into the D from the right, the ball was pulled back to Thurman who struck high and hard into the roof of the net hitting the underside of the bar!

Sils held on to this two goal lead and finished up very worthy winners!

A great performance from all, lots of hard work, tracking back, great defending and excellent vision, just what we need before we take on top of the league next week!
