When You Come Back From 3-1 Down And Boss The Second Half!!

Sils 3XI took the long early moring trip to Nottingham to play at The Goosedale Arena, with a bare eleven making the trip Sils still looked strong in the first two minutes, with a fast break on goal on to see it fly past the posts for a 16.

Nottingham then of course broke through our young midfield of Thurman, Moment, N.Rice & J.Rice before slotting in a simple one-two.

Sils then had a break themselves shortly after the restart with some great link up play in midfield before Thurman burst through the last line of defence and lift the ball over the keepers outstretched leg, 1-1.

Then it happened, some players took on themselves to sub without finding adequate cover leaving gaps and of course Nottingham pounced on this and took the lead once more, 2-1

Sils fought back hard with some lovely play down the wings but not enough running off the ball meant that balls didnt get played in and Nottingham turned us over, with this another unauthorised sub was made and guess what.................Nottingham scored again beacause of it, Sils need to ask themselves a simple question, can we win a game with 10 men, or even 11, i would say unlikely!

However, the half time team talk mainly consisted of this chat and that the game was not too far ut of reach! Half Time 3-1

Sils started the second half the stronger of the two by far, our youth and fitness was starting to shine through and cause some problems for Nottingham, several simple chances were missed, including a back post tap in from a penalty corner (which was a shot tbf)!

Sils kept their heads up even though the game was going by with no goals, then some sloppy passing from Nottingham meant that the ball was cut out and Calum Rice (i think, please confimr?) was slipped in by the captain before slotting home, 3-2.

The third goal was very similar but with some great passing in between, this was mentioned of goal of the season to date and it was Thurman who got it, powering it between the keepers legs. 3-3.

A few nervy moments towards the end including Sils going down to 10 and three consecutvue penalty corners but Sils managed to hold on to a well derserved 3-3 draw, we walked off feeling like we had won, great game and great attitudes to all that played the second half!

Man of the match: Nick Rice
