Search for first win of season continues (but it is on its way)

Torrential rain, an early start and an away fixture against the League Leaders - not the best set of conditions for Sils M4 team, who took a 15 man squad down the M5 for the lunchtime game.

The score line suggests a much greater gulf in class and ability between the two teams. However this was simply not the case. Sils can take many positives from the game (as well as a shed load of wet kit) so it is this that we will focus on in this report.

1. At the back, after only a handful of games, Jogi showed that he is developing into a very capable keeper, and made a number of good saves.
2. The Rice boys added speed and skill to Sils defence and attack - Nick and Josh had strong games, and Calum was a regular threat down the right flank in both halves.
3. John Rice and Shaun Bates gave Sils extra strength in defence and midfield, important given the absence of Bettridge.
4. Andy Rush is getting fitter and sharper - more goals are surely just round the corner.
5. The workrate from the team was very good given the awful playing conditions.

Sils arguably created as many chances as their opponents, with the best opportunities falling to Willetts, Rush and Dwyer, but Worcester's finishing was in truth more clinical, and - in a couple of instances - more fortunate.

Finally, two points to reflect on as we dry off and prepare for next week's game :

1. Tony, if you're going to (rightly) rib Jogi for asking what time a noon start is, make sure that YOU turn up on time !!!!
2. Jogi, I have had a call from George Michael. He knows it is Movember, but he wants to know when he can have his moustache back as he has a gig next week.
