So the score line was 0-2, but let's look at the positives. I personally think that as a team we played very well, we strung some fantastic passes together, and we started to show signs that we've been listening to the things that Dave has been telling (and Yogi has been yelling) all season.

There was some brilliant performances at the back from Charlie and Ian, putting in some fantastic tackles to break down almost all of Suttons advances. While Dave and Mike put in equally great shows of strength with a slight hiccough when Dave tried out his new hands free stick technique during a short corner.

Still you never know it might have worked.

Alex Milne really put his body on the line during the second half, which sadly resulted in some time off the pitch (presumably putting his knee back together). The midfield was full of great movement from the Johns (Harrison and Scott) which helped to drive the ball into the Sutton Half. Meanwhile Keith seemed to make himself available to every pass heading his way, and Dan showed some real signs of skill with the ball including an impressive top corner shot which sadly flew just a few cm wide, and not to forget Sam Teal whose runs down the line were a thing to behold, but sadly without the support in place our ventures into their half largely came to nothing.

One thing we have learned from this match is the need to be ready to run onto a pass. Stick to stick passes is all well and good, but particularly for our younger players we need to be prepared to run onto the ball to make in roads into the opposition's D. On that note, let's remember Dave's closing statement of the match, If we want to be competitive in this league many of us need to address our fitness levels, particularly when we are lucky enough to have even one substitute. There is no reason especially those of us too young for a bus pass shouldn't be running for the the majority of the match and subbing off when we need a breather.

In the business world they call this a poo sandwich (or something less broadcastable), so lets finish on some good. All in all we have come a long way this season, and we stand a real chance of staying in this league, we're going to need to dig deep, but i personally think the Mighty 4s have what it takes, and as long as we all believe that, and learn from what has worked so far, and what hasn't, we will be on to a winner.
