Long story short
We worked hard - we tried hard - but every sponge (no matter how large) can only soak up so much (pressure). Ours was massive and took almost fifty minutes to fill.
We held them and pushed them for the first 35 (2-1) but could not keep up the intensity as we tired and as they kicked on with a team average age some 15 years below ours.
Rushy first half equaliser shocked our opponents but wasn’t enough to allow us to push on and take control of the game.
The second half saw Sils fight hard but struggle to cope with the incessant wave of attacks down both flanks from Edge with the back four under extreme pressure throughout,
Looking to the future, there were several highlights:
1. Alex Milne - not sure about your CO2 emissions but what an engine ! MOM
2. Mackenzie Hill - welcome to the defenders union lad - a number of timely interventions from a young man who is growing in confidence every game. Well done.
3.Charlie Russell - assured again. Nuff said.
4. Yogi - several instinctive and brilliant saves.
5. Dan Bridges - a CF asked (again) to play in midfield. Great versatility.
Next game - final game - after Easter v Bromsgrove.
Enjoy Easter and let’s finish 17/18 on a high note.
