They came they saw they conquered but then we learned from them and beat them at their own game.

A class Harborne side dominated the first half scoring 4 unanswered goals with a display of passing hockey that has rarely been seen on a Wednesday night.

This said the Sils missed a couple of chances to take the lead at the start of the game with Caroline Frye having a particular impact on the right wing.

Perseverantia ruled the second half as the home side refused to lay down and grabbed a goal back when Nick Oppenheimer forced the ball through the keeper at close range.

Harborne reinstated their 4 goal cushion before John Rice clawed another back for the Sils with a scything leading run from a set piece inside the Harborne 23.

Harborne scored a couple more breakaway goals as Sils pushed for more goals but the home side did manage to sneak the second half with first Sam Stephen slotting the ball in under the keeper's despairing lunge then a delightful move involving Nobby passing to Mark Woolford for a pin point pass between keeper and centre back to Andre Tchakhotine to apply the finishing touch.

disappointing loss but some excellent hockey, great to see Chris Thompson back in action and the customary full house in the bar afterwards. BOOM!
