Sils made the short journey across Birmingham to visit Edgbaston in their latest adventure and starting well there was some glimour of hope that results of previous weeks would be reversed with some good hockey being played and inroads into the opposition third being made. Edgbaston slowly got into their game plan and were looking a well structured strong outfit with fast raiding forwards that were starting to ask questions of the defence. A number of attempts were thwarted by the defence and there was a feeling of how long could it continue and by half way through the first half Edgbaston had scored and five minutes later Sils unluckily conceded another after a number of richochets and deflections the ball was squeezed in to make it 0:2 which was held until the interval.
The second half started with a new vigour by Sils and there was good approach play down the right with Sophie Price and Georgina Dalby linking well, within three minutes of the restart the ball was latched onto by Samantha Cooper who drove into the D and her shot on goal was superbly deflected in by Tamara Majevadia to increase her tally for the season. However, the comeback did not last and just when it looked as though Sils might be able to grasp something out of the game clinical finishing by Edgbaston increased their lead. As time went on heads dropped and Edgbaston took more control of the game with any mislaid passes and interceptions being quickly turned into more attacks. Edgbaston added three more goals to their tally and ran out winners in a 1:6 drubbing.
MoM: Tamara Majevadia ran herself into the ground trying to plug the gaps and to supplement the forwards earning herself another goal in the process.
DoD: Not awarded as everyone was being on their best behaviour.
