First game versus Edgbaston: The girls dominated the first half with strong attacking skills and tight marking strategies so well done to all involved - however, they went in 1-0 down at half-time due to a breakaway goal. As the second half unfolded the girls began to create more space and improve their passing skills which helped them win a deserved 3-2. Goal scorers: Jane Woodley 2 and Carys Rowland 1.
In the second game the girls took on Olton & WW. Once again they showed good team play and some excellent dribbling skills from Zara Johal. The team linked some great passing between the midfield and forwards (Jane and Connie), and with some fantastic saves by the GK Amy Garside the team finished the game with a 2-0 win. Goal Scorers: Jane Woodley 1 and Connie Smith 1.
Last game of the tournament was against a very strong Rugby team. The girls stood their ground throughout the game with some great defensive skills from Eva, Cary, Erica and Emelia. Rugby came away with a 4-1 win. Goal scorer: Jane Woodley.
Thanks to all involved including the coach Dave Higgins - good luck to the team when they play on the 22nd in the County semi-finals.
