Sils U10 Girls Battle well in the semi finals
Two great team performances which included a well taken goal by Carys Rowland meant that Sils finished in a creditable fourth position.
v Sutton 0-6. This was a tough game against a more experienced opposition. Good goalkeeping from Amy Garside kept Sils in the game during a competitive first half before Sutton’s strength won through in the second half with Jane Sixsmith's daughter (yes, that Jane Sixsmith), Ellie-Mae, causing most of the damage. All credit to the girls though for never dropping their heads throughout the game.
v Rugby 1-3. This was a stronger performance, where a change in formation proved very effective, particularly in the first half. Sils took the lead via a break away goal from Carys Rowland midway through the first half. This was an evenly matched contest throughout but ultimately Rugby's consistent conversion of short corners, despite two great saves from the Sils defence meant that they ultimately ran out the winners.
