Sils' Men's Summer League side continue their rich goal-scoring form with another mid-week demolition

A strong all-round performance from the Sils Men led to another convincing win for the Summer League side.

Debutant Conor Jones scored twice, with Tom Mallett also notching a brace. Other goals were scored by Josie O'Malley (with a rather lucky deflection in off a defender's foot), Salman Whittaker with a sneaky little shove towards goal that alluded GK, and two defenders before trickling into the net, and Jacob Bowman, who also managed to mis-hit a shot into the goal.

Bowman put in a man-of-the-match performance, launching a lot of attacks through his clever use of the ball in the midfield, and with Dave Baylis, Tom Harrison and Dan Sulway spraying the ball all over the pitch, the home side looked as if they could score for fun.

In reality, the first half performance won the match, with the opener from Jones, the second by O'Malley, Mallett's first, and Jones' second making the score 4-0 after 35 minutes. The 3rd and 4th goals were both thunderous strikes from the top of the D, whereas the 1st and 2nd were more due to effective build up play. There was even time for Tom Harrison to miss a stroke!

In the second half, the visitors' defence worked tirelessly to keep the score down, and though they scored first in the second half, with a well-executed drag-flick to make the score 4-1, Sils soon clinched the game with Whittaker and Bowman grabbing their goals, whilst Mallett put away a trade-mark reverse-stick finish when working with very little space in the D to wrap up the 3 points for the Sils.
